Welcome from the Head of School
Dear Prospective and Current Oakbrook families,
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as Head of School at Oakbrook Preparatory School. Our mission is clear: to deliver an interdenominational, Christ-centered, college-preparatory education that nurtures the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
Since its founding in 1992 as The Village School, Oakbrook has stood as a beacon of hope for families seeking an education that celebrates the uniqueness of every child. From the beginning, our community has valued creativity, curiosity, and a commitment to both academic excellence and personal discipline.
At Oakbrook, parents are true partners in the educational journey. Much like a three-legged stool, we believe children flourish when the values of the home are aligned with the three pillars of home, school, and faith.
Our faculty and staff are highly dedicated and deeply committed to providing students with both a strong academic foundation and a biblical worldview. We believe that true education involves more than knowledge alone—it is helping students understand God’s plan for their lives and for the world. To that end, we focus on cultivating life skills and abilities that empower every student to discover God’s unique calling and prepare them not only for life, but for eternity.
As we look ahead, I am excited to partner with you in creating a safe and thriving learning environment where students can succeed and God is glorified in all we do. May His blessings be evident as we continue to live out His promise together.
We are…Oakbrook!
In His service,
R. Andrew Bell

Head of School R. Andrew Bell

R. Andrew “Andy” Bell brings more than 30 years of experience in education as a coach, teacher of Economics and Sociology, department leader, and administrator. He joins Oakbrook Preparatory School from Christian School of York in Pennsylvania, where he served as Superintendent and CEO for seven years.
During his tenure at Christian School of York, Mr. Bell provided steady and visionary leadership, guiding the school through a period of remarkable growth. Enrollment increased from 179 to over 550 students, nearly $1 million in debt was eliminated, and the school’s financial position was significantly strengthened, with the cash balance growing from under $180,000 to more than $3 million.
Grounded in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,” Mr. Bell views education as a calling. He is deeply passionate about Christ-centered education, community building, and fostering environments where students flourish both academically and spiritually.
Mr. Bell and his wife, Heidi, have three daughters: Megan, Emma, and Rylie. Together, they are excited to become part of the Oakbrook community.
