Name: Kelly Byrd

Position: Dean of Christian Studies

How long have you been at Oakbrook: This will be my 7th year at Oakbrook. The students and faculty have become my people. I love it here!

How do you like to spend your free time: In my spare time I love remodeling my childhood home with my husband. We enjoy the fixer upper life! When not working on another DIY project, I love to sew and spend time with family, especially our grandkids, Everly, 7 and Lincoln, 4.

What do you love most about teaching: I love being with students and getting to know them on a deeper level. It is a joy to see them have those “lightbulb moments” in which they connect with our class content. It brings me great joy to have a front row seat to their spiritual growth through middle school and upper school.

What do you love most about working at Oakbrook: I have the wonderful privilege of teaching God’s Word to students here at Oakbrook. Oakbrook gives me the opportunity to live my passion to see students develop a growing relationship with Jesus and love his Word. I truly enjoy spending my days with our students and faculty as we walk our spiritual journey together.
