Oakbrook Preparatory School is an independent Christian School. The school is not affiliated with any church or denomination. Teachers and administrators represent a variety of Christian beliefs. Those beliefs affect the way they treat children and the example they set for children. Chapel lessons, based on the Old and New Testaments, emphasize character development and service to mankind. Oakbrook Preparatory School provides Biblical teaching. K4 -5th grades have chapel once a week and daily devotions. Grades 6th through 8th have chapel once a week and a religious studies class, and high school students have a weekly chapel and are required one unit of religious studies for graduation.

"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers."
Psalm 1:1-3
